Abstract: 

The special features of the use of non-traditional mapping methods in thematic mapping of international passenger railway communication are shown. The important role of GIS-technologies and databases in the creation of respective cartographic models – cartoids and anamorphoses is underlined. Their importance for the research of international passenger railway communication between Ukraine and Russia is shown.
