Abstract: 

The paper reviews the definition of 'space' concept starting from the sources and philosophies of the ancient world up to the modern views as well as its role and significance in geographical discourse. The main directions of global transformation processes impact on understanding and utilization of space have been highlighted. Included but not limited to space individualization and 'perpetualization', approaches to definition of their different types as well as issues with importance coordination of the physical space as the human habitat. The outline of geospace conceptualization, its construction and understanding of its different kinds' essence has been introduced.
