Резюме: 
Мета дослідження – налаштувати та відкалібрувати модель SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) для оцінювання надходження біогенних елементів з водозбірної території малих річок від розподілених джерел. Адаптацію моделі для умов зони мішаних лісів України виконано на прикладі водозбору р. Головесні, розташованого на території Придеснянської водно-балансової станції. Це забезпечило наявність багаторічних рядів спостережень за гідрологічними, гідрогеологічними і метеорологічними параметрами, які використовуються у SWAT. Калібрування та валідацію моделі виконано з використанням програми автокалібрування SWAT-CUP. Ефективність моделювання оцінювалася на підставі коефіцієнта Неша-Саткліффа, коефіцієнта детермінації (R2), процентного відхилення і нормалізованого квадратного кореня помилки моделі. Виконано моделювання водного стоку у різні фази водності та оцінено надходження з ним сполук нітрогену і фосфору. Визначено роль застосування мінеральних добрив у формуванні стоку біогенних елементів у досліджуваному басейні. Запропонована модель може бути використана для оцінювання надходження біогенних елементів від дифузних джерел при підготовці планів управління річковими басейнами та розробці програми дій зі зменшення забруднення водних екосистем.
