Abstract: 

The overview of formation and development of Ukrainian soil cover is accomplished in the article. Principles, criteria and structure of soil-geographical regionalization are examined. Qualitative genetic as well as quantitative geometrical indicators of the soil cover structure with an analysis of the spatial distribution of soil combinations and formed by them soil structures were used for the characteristic of selected territorial units.
