Abstract: 

The analysis of codes, laws and current Ukrainian government programs in order to integrate them into the main provisions of global conventions Rio 92 (Convention on Biological Diversity, the Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Convention to Combat Desertification) has been performed. Based on the loopholes identified in the legislation, as well as SWOT analysis, a number of recommendations for the Rio-92 Conventions implementation have been formed in the following sub-sectors: air conservation and protection and policies on climate change; conservation, protection and rational use of water resources; conservation, protection and rational use of land resources; conservation, sustainable use and protection of flora and fauna, NRF, biological and landscape diversity; conservation of mineral resources and their rational use; environmental safety and permits and licenses; environment monitoring.
