Abstract: 

The publication gives general outlines of the Ukraine NAS geographers’ main development results on the issues of sustainable development, including - results of the latest development achieved by geographers in collaboration with colleagues from other NAS institutions in the framework of Special complex multidisciplinary program of scientific research on sustainable development, environmental management and environmental conservation; within the preparation of the National Report on Provisions of «Agenda for the XXI century for ten years (2002-2012» implementation state; the implementation of the first landscape planning project in Ukraine, preparation of the Ukraine Sustainable Development Concept. Also, the findings of the joint research with foreign colleagues on modern approaches and implementation instruments of sustainable development into planning and economic development practice have been outlined.
