This study was conducted to systematize the scientific literature on urban resilience and its specific categories and to introduce an original approach to assessing this phenomenon. The focus is on identifying markers and signs of urban resilience across four key domains of this phenomenon—infrastructural, social, economic, and institutional. An original system of 32 indicators was developed and applied to examine each component. Using Kyiv as an example, the study traces the specific features of the transformation and adaptation of Ukraine’s capital and all its vital components to the conditions of full-scale war, and a general resilience index for this model city has been developed. Based on the research findings, conclusions have been drawn regarding the current situation in Kyiv for each examined element of the phenomenon. The results of the study demonstrate the relevance and importance of this concept from the perspectives of human geography and the methodology of this discipline. To further explore this topic, future research should focus on expanding the list of model cities, refining the indicator system and the required data sets, and employing an interdisciplinary approach.
